    July 20, 2013:

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) doubled down against ObamaCare in an interview set to air Sunday, calling the law “bad for America” and vowing to fight its implementation.

“ObamaCare is bad for America,” Boehner told CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “We’re going to do everything we can to make sure it never happens.”

Boehner’s comments come several days after the House voted to delay the law’s employer and individual mandates over a White House veto threat.

The votes mark nearly 40 times that House Republicans have sought to defund, dismantle or repeal healthcare reform.

Democrats have accused the GOP of mounting a campaign to sabotage the law’s implementation.

Boehner criticized the administration for choosing to delay the law’s employer mandate for one year.

The decision means that larger businesses will not be required to provide healthcare coverage until 2015.

It will affect only a handful of workers, since most companies of more than 50 employees already offer health insurance.

Republicans argue that the delay suggests the administration is struggling to implement the law.

“If ObamaCare was workable, why did the president announce that he wasn’t going to enforce the employer mandate?” Boehner asked.

The White House said its choice responded to calls from business for more flexibility.

Boehner also criticized federal health officials for a smaller delay that will temporarily scale back some income verification checks on the exchanges.

He suggested that the move, which comes as the administration races to launch the exchanges, means the law isn’t working properly.

“Why did the White House decide that ‘Well, we’re not going to verify people’s income when they come to the exchanges?’ Why? Because they can’t,” Boehner said.
